Recently I came across a quote said by Albert Einstein.
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it’s stupid”.
How true it is? I wondered. Yes! Because identifying one’s ability is also a key to success. There are people out there who don’t know what they are capable of doing. It’s not their fault anyways; it is people who throw their thoughts and views on other peoples abilities. Everyone is good at something. But the real problem is finding our ability and interest?
So, what defines ability? How to identify our ability? Ever felt jealous of seeing others ability to do or talent while you can’t do? Have you ever thought on this deeply before? Everybody is talented. Everyone has the ability to do something. But, everyone is not good at identifying their skill. There lies the problem.
Let’s analyse more on this now:
# Ability is also known as skill or talent. There is no one in this world who can define your skill or ability. It is you, who can describe your ability to do things. Ability indirectly means your strength.
# Ability also means your natural inborn strengths. Everyone has brought a talent or skill gifted by god. For example singing, drawing, story writing etc. It lies in our hands to identify our plus points.
# Have a SWOT analysis – strengths, weakness, opportunities, threats. If you are able to find your ability, it will open you up to several career opportunities. It is our responsibility to improve our talents.
# Have you ever identified things that make you feel happy? Which work you love when doing? What skills you enjoy using? Things you feel so easy to do while others struggle with it? There you may get a hint and just work it out.
# Always test yourself and give a try. Never deny doing a work without trying it. It you face a failure; just accept it with a smile as you have learned a lesson from it.
# Did anyone said you are good at story telling? Are you good at tailoring? Because people around you might have noticed your talent. Ask them, listen to them and note it down. Feel loved about your skill.
# Always remember a thing. Practise makes perfection. Unless you practise your favourite things regularly, you can’t be a master in it.
# Always try to teach or share your interest with others. The more you share, the more you gain knowledge.
# The most important is, if you have children please spend some time to identify your Childs abilities. Don’t be rush. Take time to watch your Childs activities.
Hope, everyone got to find their key to find their abilities now. We all have something big, special in ourselves. Just spend some time to analyse it. You will Rock then!
